Real Madrid have decided to sack Benitez?
Real Madrid have made the decision to part ways with Rafa Benitez, though the club are not yet sure if they want to sack him immediately or wait until the end of the season, according to a report in Marca.
In the lead up to Saturday's 4-0 humiliation against Barca, rumours suggested Zinedine Zidane would be asked to replace the Spanish coach if Madrid failed to win, though Zidane himself would prefer not to take over a club midway through a season.
Saturday's result aside, reports have claimed for some time that Benitez has a poor relationship with the dressing room, while the 55-year-old's style of football has also been slated by sections of Madrid's fanbase.
And so it seems the coach's fate is sealed, though it remains to be seen whether club president Florentino Perez will wait until June to give Zidane a fresh run at things or stick with Benitez until the end of the season.
