‘EMPIRE’ SEASON 3 RELEASE DATE & SPOILERS: EP TEASES ON JAMAL AND D-MAJOR’S ROMANCE; ANIKA DIES?

“Empire” Season 3 will reveal which character will meet her end, as the Season 3 finale of the Fox musical drama ended with a cliffhanger. While it remains to be seen whether Anika or Rhonda will die in the new season, executive producer Ilene Chaiken dishes on Jamal and D-Major’s romance.

“Empire” Season 3 spoilers reveal that the coming season may explore more on Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and D-Major’s (Tobias Truvillion) romance. In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Ilene Chaiken revealed that their story will definitely be explored in Season 3.

“We think their story is really worth telling,” she said.

Chaiken explained that “Empire” aims to tell stories that are melodramatic, but in the case of Jamal and D-Major’s relationship, theirs appear to be more realistic. As for their future in Season 3, Chaiken shared that Jamal would need to forgive D-Major first and foremost before the two can explore their relationship further.

Jamal will also need to forgive his friend, Freda, after the latter shot him accidentally. Chaiken revealed that Freda will still appear in “Empire” Season 3 despite the fact that her character was put behind bars in the Season 2 finale.

Meanwhile, one of the burning questions that fans have after that cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale of “Empire” is: “Will Anika or Rhonda die?” According toInternational Business Times, this remains a mystery even to the cast of the Fox musical drama.

Should Anika (Grace Gealey) survive, however, she may need to have an intense confrontation with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). If Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) lives on, the publication notes that there is a possibility that she and Andre will end up in a divorce.
